Η Ένωση Ασφαλιστικών Εταιριών με την ευκαιρία της Ετήσιας Τακτικής Γενικής Συνέλευσής της διοργάνωσε ειδική εκδήλωση με θέμα: «Ιδιωτική Ασφάλιση, ένας δρόμος προς την αξιοπρέπεια και την ευημερία».
Την εκδήλωση παρακολούθησαν πάνω από 500 προσκεκλημένοι, εκπρόσωποι της πολιτικής, κοινωνικής και οικονομικής ζωής του τόπου, των ΜΜΕ και φορέων της ασφαλιστικής αγοράς.
Τις απόψεις τους πάνω στην αναπτυξιακή προοπτική της ελληνικής οικονομίας και τη συμβολή της Ιδιωτικής Ασφάλισης σε αυτή ανέπτυξαν οι διακεκριμένοι ομιλητές κ. Α. Σκορδάς, Υφυπουργός Ανάπτυξης, Ανταγωνιστικότητας, Υποδομών, Μεταφορών και Δικτύων, Γ. Μέργος, Καθηγητής Οικονομικών Επιστημών Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών, Γενικός Γραμματέας Υπουργείου Οικονομικών, Γ. Σταθάκης, Βουλευτής, Καθηγητής Πολιτικής Οικονομίας Πανεπιστημίου Κρήτης, Α. Γιαννίτσης, τ. Υπουργός, Ομότ. Καθηγητής Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών και Γ. Κώτσαλος, Πρόεδρος, Ένωση Ασφαλιστικών Εταιριών Ελλάδος.
Στην τοποθέτησή του ο κ. Κώτσαλος αναφέρθηκε εκτενώς στο αδιέξοδο στο οποίο βρίσκεται η Κοινωνική Ασφάλιση και τον καθοριστικό ρόλο της Ιδιωτικής Ασφάλισης για την επίλυσή του. Δήλωσε πως η Πολιτεία θα πρέπει να προσεγγίσει την ασφαλιστική αγορά για να λύσει τα θέματα των πολιτών. «Αν θέλουμε να δούμε με ρεαλισμό το συμφέρον της κοινωνίας και της χώρας, όσον αφορά τον 2ο πυλώνα (επαγγελματική ασφάλιση), πρέπει να μιλάμε και για υποχρεωτικότητα. Οι λύσεις αυτές υπάρχουν εδώ και δεκαετίες σε άλλες Ευρωπαϊκές χώρες», δήλωσε ο κ. Κώτσαλος. Εστίασε επίσης, στην ανάγκη επαναφοράς των φορολογικών κινήτρων για τις ασφαλίσεις ζωής καθώς ανάπτυξη χωρίς κίνητρα δε μπορεί να επιτευχθεί.
Εκτός του συνταξιοδοτικού, ο κ. Κώτσαλος αναφέρθηκε στην προώθηση και επέκταση άλλων συμπράξεων (ΣΔΙΤ) μεταξύ Ιδιωτικής Ασφάλισης – Κράτους για την επίλυση σημαντικών προβλημάτων που αντιμετωπίζει το Κράτος στους τομείς της υγείας, της προστασίας από καταστροφικούς κινδύνους κ.ά.
Αναφερόμενος στην ασφαλιστική αγορά τόνισε ότι εν μέσω κρίσης ο κλάδος αντιμετωπίζει την κρίση με πτώση παραγωγής αλλά όχι με καθίζηση όπως άλλοι κλάδοι. Η ασφαλιστική αγορά προσαρμόζεται στη νέα πραγματικότητα με απλοποιημένα και φθηνότερα προϊόντα, ενίσχυση της διαφάνειας, επενδύσεις στην τεχνολογία και έμφαση στην πολυκαναλική διανομή.
Τέλος, ανέλυσε τις προκλήσεις και τα προβλήματα που αντιμετωπίζει ο κλάδος και εστίασε ιδιαίτερα στην ανάγκη αυστηρής και ενιαίας εποπτείας της ασφαλιστικής αγοράς από την Τράπεζα της Ελλάδος για την θωράκιση της αξιοπιστίας της αγοράς και την προστασία της σχέσης της με τον καταναλωτή.
